August 29 -- MOS BOARD MEETING.   Hosted by Washington County.

September 3 -- MEETING.   Paul Napier will talk about bird banding at Cape May, including its history, why raptors migrate through Cape May, and scientific results.

September 12 -- GOVERNOR'S BRIDGE NATURAL AREA.  Leader: Kathy Calvert (301-810-5677).

September 26 -- GAMBRILL STATE PARK and FREDERICK WATERSHED.   Search for migrating fall warblers. Leader: Lois Kauffman (301-845-6690).

October 1 -- MEETING.   Bob Schaefer speaking on his travels in Australia.

October 2-4 -- CAPE MAY WEEKEND.   Search this wonderful area for migrating birds, especially raptors. We plan to travel to Cape May on the 2nd, bird all day Saturday and Sunday morning and return Sunday afternoon. Reserve your room at the West Cape Motel (609-884-4280). Leader: Tom Humphrey (301-696-8540).

October 17 -- LILYPONS / GREENFIELD ROAD. Local morning search for migrants and early waterfowl. A great trip for beginners as well as experienced birders. Leader: Bob Schaefer (301-831-5660).

November 1 -- LOCAL HAWK WATCH. Date / location dependent on weather. Reservations required. Leader: Tom Humphrey (301-696-8540).

November 5 -- MEETING (Frederick HS Heritage Room).   Mike Welch will tell us about birding the Central California Coast.

November 14 -- TERRAPIN PARK and KENT ISLAND.   Full day trip. We'll look for early winter waterfowl and other birds. Leader: Lois Kauffman (301-845-6690).

December 3 -- HOLIDAY DINNER AND MEETING.   For our annual dinner, our speaker will be Bruce Beehler taking us on an exploration of New Guinea to see Birds of Paradise. Dinner will be at the Homewood at 6:00 P.M. at a cost of $18.50 per person. We will also hold our fantastic silent auction. Please make reservations with and send money to Treasurer Grace Borell before 11/20/2015.

December 5 -- MOS BOARD MEETING.   Hosted by Anne Arundel County.   

December 12 -- CONOWINGO DAM.   Bald eagles and wintering waterfowl. Leader: Kathy Brown (301-865-1369)..

December 17 -- WASHINGTON COUNTY CHRISTMAS COUNT.   Enjoy a day in the field helping out our neighbors to the west - Coordinator Mark Abdy, mjabdy@yahoo.com, 301-432-7696.   

December 20 -- CATOCTIN CHRISTMAS COUNT #63.   Birders of all ages and levels of experience needed!   Compiler: Mike Welch (301-685-3561).

January 9 -- AUDREY CARROLL MID-WINTER COUNT.   Meet at the Sanctuary at 6:30 AM, and be prepared to visit all parts of the sanctuary's 129 acres.   You may want your waterproof boots.   Compiler: David Smith (410-549-7082).

January 3 -- SUGARLOAF CHRISTMAS COUNT.   All are welcome! FBC Coordinator: Helen Horrocks (301-831-6315).   

January 7 -- MEETING.   Dave Brinker will tell us about his Snowy Owl project, and whet our appetites for possible winter sightings.

January 10 -- FRED ARCHIBALD MID-WINTER COUNT.   Meet at the Sanctuary at 6:30 AM, and be ready to cover 140 acres.   Don't forget waterproof boots.   Compiler: David Smith (410-549-7082).

January 23 -- BLACKWATER TRIP.   Full day trip for wintering waterfowl. Leader: Kathy Calvert (301-810-5677).

January 23 -- C&O CANAL MID-WINTER COUNT.  Compiler: TBD

January 31 -- FREDERICK COUNTY MID-WINTER COUNT.   This is the last, but not the least, of our winter counts!   The reward afterwards is the enjoyable tally-rally at David and Carol's house.   Compiler: David Smith (410-549-7082).

February 4 -- MEETING.   Members' Night. This will feature a variety of short presentations of photos, slides, and / or videos from our members. Who knows where it may take us! Please let Kathy Brown know in advance if you want to be on the agenda (301-865-1369).

February 12-15 -- GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT.   Count one day or all four!

February 27 -- FREDERICK COUNTY WATERFOWL.   Frederick county hot spots, leader's choice. Leader: Mike Welch (301-685-3561)..

March 3 -- MEETING.   Mark Abdy will tell us about beautiful Costa Rica and its gorgeous birds.

March 5 -- MOS BOARD MEETING.   Hosted by Frederick County.   

March 12 -- WOODCOCK AT (LOCATION TBD).   Leader: David Smith (410-549-7082).

March 19 -- MIDDLE CREEK WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA (north of Lancaster, PA).   All-day trip. Thousands of snow geese and tundra swans, in addition to other waterfowl and overwintering birds. Leader: Pat Caro (240-651-5651).

April 7 -- MEETING.   Chris Tawney will tell us about restoration of the grasslands at Antietam battlefield.

April 9 -- ANTIETAM BATTLEFIELD.   Don Hambright (301-371-7411) will lead us through Antietam battlefield to look for birds taking advantage of the restored grasslands.

April 16 -- HUGHES HOLLOW BIRDS AND BUTTERFLIES. A great trip for beginners as well as experienced birders. Leader: Pat Caro (240-651-5651)..

April 30 -- NATIVE PLANT SALE of the Audubon Society of Central Maryland, held at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary.   Please support this sale at one of our favorite and most productive birding hot spots.   More information can be found HERE.

May 5 -- NOTE CHANGE --> MEETING at Homewood as usual. Behind the scenes of the MD/DC Records Committee with Phil Davis.

May 7 -- THOMPSON WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA (near Front Royal, VA). Warblers and wildflowers! Leader: Lois Kauffman (301-845-6690)..

May 8 -- FRED ARCHIBALD MAY COUNT.   Meet at the Sanctuary at 6:00 AM. Coordinator: David Smith (410-549-7082).

May 14 -- FREDERICK COUNTY MAY COUNT #52.   It's peak migration, so this is the most fun you can have working on a census. Lots of eyes and ears are needed! Compiler: Mike Welch (301-685-3561)..

May 15 -- AUDREY CARROLL MAY COUNT.   Meet at the Sanctuary at 6:00 AM. Coordinator: David Smith (410-549-7082).

May 21-22 -- WESTERN MARYLAND.   Two-day trip looking for goshawks, warblers, Henslow's Sparrow, Alder Flycatcher and other mountain specialties. Leaders: Mike Welch (301-685-3561) and Pat Caro (240-651-5651)..

June 2 -- ANNUAL PICNIC.   Our favorite spot for this event is Pinecliff Park, where there is a lovely pavilion just in case we have a bit of rain.  Bring binoculars, a dish to share, plate, utensils and drink.  We'll meet at 6:00 PM to eat and then do a bit of birding.
